Here's what you can expect over the coming months:
Theatre & concert bookings at the drop of a hat. Make sure we have your phone number or email address!
Day out in the country 30th January 2010
Meet at the Parrot Ranch, Kimberley Road at 10:45am
Followed by a shared picnic at Lake Papaitonga
and a barbecue at Otaihanga Domain at 4:30pm.

Lawn Bowls April 2010
Annual General Meeting
Held in late April or early May each year
12:30pm - 5pm Sunday 2nd May 2010 at Cornerstone, Khandallah
Bring a plate for a pot-luck lunch at 1pm
We hold the AGM just after the pot-luck lunch, and follow that by an afternoon of entertainment.
Annual competitions
Arts & Crafts competition:
Judged by those present at the Xmas party. Bring an article that you have sawn, sewn, sintered, soldered, suffused or otherwise crafted. These will be displayed for all to see and award their votes.
Work must be predominantly by a member of the Society, although patterns and designs may be copied.
The winner of the Arts & Crafts competition will be presented with the N Coles Memorial Shield, which will be held for the next 12 months.
The winner in 2008 was Heulwen Jones.
Welsh Cake competition:
Arrange 6 Welsh Cakes on a plate. Judging will be done at the Xmas Party.
The winner in 2008 was Patricia Watts.
Short Story & Poetry competitions:
Judged by a totally unbiased person, the results are announced at our St. David's Day celebrations.
The writer of the short story judged best is presented with the Raphael Jones Memorial Cup,
and the writer of the poem judged best is presented with the Ellen Griffith Memorial Cup.
The winner of each competition holds the cup for the next 12 months.
Stories should have some relevance to Wales or the Welsh, and you should aim for between 500 to 2000 words.
There is no restriction on the length of poems.
Winner of the Short Story competition for 2008 was Megan Samuel.
The Ellen Griffith Memorial Cup for Poetry was won by Taffy Parry.
So get your quills out, and start thinking of those masterpieces.
Send your entries to the Secretary by the end of January please.
