Celebrated by Welsh folk around the world, wherever they may be.
Last updated 30th December 2008
Our celebrations for St. David’s Day Raising Y Ddraig Goch We will have a morning service at St. Andrew's on the Terrace, Wellington at 10am This will be followed by a lunch and afternoon of entertainment and merriment at The Whitby Room, in the James Cook Hotel on the Terrace, Wellington. Each year, we send greetings for St. David’s Day to Welsh Societies around the world, and in turn receive greetings from kindred societies. These are read out. Also, a roll-call of the counties of Wales is made; as each county is called, those from that area stand and cheer. Several people perform musical items, and there may be a short story read. Anyone with an interest in Wales or Welsh culture may attend our events. We especially welcome those with Welsh ancestry, or those who have lived in Wales. If you are in Wellington on Sunday 1st March 2009, why not spend the evening at the Welsh Dragon Bar, middle of the road, Kent/Cambridge Terraces, across from the Embassy theatre?
