JEANNIE WYN WILLIAMS, BARD
Recipient of the Gorsedd's Green Robe Honorary Ovate Order (Urdd Ofydd er Anrhydedd) for substantial service to Wales, Jeannie was initiated within the Gorsedd Circle at Y Faenol in the splendour of the Faenol Estate on the outskirts of Bangor on Friday, August 5th 2005. Jeannie's bardic name is Jeannie o'r Wyddfa.

Bards dressed in Druidical robes gather with thousands of Welsh-speaking folk to celebrate Welsh creativity at the National Eisteddfod, held in the first week of August each year alternately in North or South Wales.
The event, a series of competitions to find the finest singers, musicians and poets in the country, takes place entirely in Cymraeg (the Welsh language).
The 2006 National Eisteddfod was held in Abertawe (Swansea). So if you want to experience the Gorsedd ceremonies yourself, why not plan a visit to Wales in August.
